Where services involve children or young people, OIS expects all participants, parents, guardians, schools, partners, staff and representatives to support safe, respectful and appropriate conduct.
OIS may refuse participation, remove a participant from an activity, contact parents/guardians, notify authorities, or take other appropriate action where there are safeguarding, welfare, behaviour, safety or legal concerns.
The UK’s statutory safeguarding guidance for schools and colleges states that safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is everyone’s responsibility. Although OIS is not an Ofsted-registered school, this principle informs our safeguarding approach.
